Striving for Perfection

Created in response to an RSA Moving Image brief and audio by Tiffany Dufu, this film explores the pressure women face to be perfect, drawing on advertisements and women’s magazines that promote unrealistic ideals. Using collage animation, the project critiques the damaging effects of media and advertising on women’s self-esteem.

Shortlisted for the RSA Moving Image Award, the work examines how women are sold an illusion of happiness and success, and how these ideals impact expectations of motherhood and identity.
