Llywelyn the Last is a current project for National Trust Chirk Castle. The silhouette animation interpretes the story of the last Welsh prince of Wales and his relationship with Roger Mortimer, the founder of the castle, as well as the rift between the Welsh and English. The animation will be projected on the walls of Chirk's dungeon, with no sound, from March 2020.
The imagery was inspired by Medieval Art and created by cutting out my drawings, using drawing ink textures to give a linocut effect.
The animation is commissioned by Kate Hulme Ltd.
