A selection of vulva collages delves into the symbolism of female power. Embedded within each composition are signs of strength, energy, beauty and wisdom. These sanctuaries bloom with flowers and jewels, yet are guarded by weapons, barriers and even CCTV, protecting against unwanted intrusions.

Becoming Me is an ongoing series of self-portraits (including The Huntress and The Griever) exploring identity, transformation, and the untamed aspects of femininity. By stepping into archetypal roles, I reclaim fragments of myself that have been dismissed, feared, or misunderstood. These works confront how women’s power has often been cast as threatening or “monstrous,” while revealing it as deeply human and necessary.

Combining surreal storytelling with a raw, experimental visual language, the series blurs the boundary between self and archetype, showing how embodying the “other” can ultimately bring us closer to who we really are.

In addition, I have been experimenting with digital collage, distorting my face to become monstrous beings.

The Burn the Bitches series confronts the cultural vilification of unruly women — those deemed monstrous, deviant or dangerous. These collages reframe them as unapologetically powerful beings, challenging the narratives that have historically silenced or punished their difference.

These works explore women’s self-expression under conflicting social expectations. Female figures are titled with virtue names traditionally given to girls, revealing tensions between conformity, repression and the desire for autonomy and escape.

In these collages, familiar fairy tale narratives are reimagined through feisty female protagonists and rebellious titles that challenge passive or victimised roles.

These works celebrate Angela Merkel and Hillary Clinton, two extraordinary women who have navigated the complexities of political power while enduring relentless public scrutiny and demonisation. Both women were labelled “Medusa” during their careers, a name weaponised to diminish their authority and power.

Created using collage and mixed media, the artworks embrace the clash between the messiness of gestural watermarks and the precision of collaged elements. This interplay of chaos and control mirrors the tension between rebellion and conformity, a central theme in the way women in power are perceived.

Inspired by the Medusa myth, their faces are surrounded by serpentine forms, reframing this imagery to challenge how society vilifies women in power. Medusa, a potent symbol of female rage and resilience, mirrors the way narratives are used to suppress and control women who defy expectations.

By connecting ancient myths with modern realities, these works reimagine Merkel and Clinton as icons of defiance and strength, celebrated for their resilience, rather than reduced to monstrous caricatures.

Don’t Make Me Eat You explores the monstrous feminine across myth and contemporary culture. Drawing from figures like Medusa, Scylla and Chimera, as well as women in power who have been demonised through similar imagery, the series examines how fears of female autonomy continue to shape our stories.

Gestural marks and precise collage elements collide to reveal women who are fierce, complex, and unapologetically untamed. Instead of villains, these so-called monsters emerge as icons of defiance, resilience, and reclaimed power.

In The Devil You Know, the figure of the monstrous, childless woman is reclaimed. Once cast as destroyers in classical tales, these characters are reimagined as powerful, disruptive, and outside the bounds of nurture and compliance.
